The best time to visit Table Mountain
Let’s first start off with the time of the year. Cape Town’s summer months are from October to March. During these months the weather is usually ideal for a ride in the cable car, but please note that it is always a good idea to check the weather before you book a ticket.
The cableway will be closed when the weather conditions are not ideal.
Now for the time of the day. The cableway opens at 08:00 in the morning, and mornings are usually the busiest time of the day. It is therefore recommended that you arrive in the afternoon just after 13:00. Ticket prices are also a bit cheaper then.
The last car up is at 15:00 and the last car down is at 16:00, so plan your activities accordingly.
What to expect

You are in for a treat! Even if this is not your first time in the cable car. The ride to the top lasts around 5 minutes, and during this time you will be treated to breathtaking views of Cape Town and the surrounding areas. The floor of the cable car rotates slowly, so no matter where in the cable car you are, you will get a chance to see everything.
The best is yet to come. Once you reach the top you will be 3 563 feet above sea level. You will also be in awe of the breathtaking views.
There is no doubt that you will spend a while taking in the view from the top, but if you are a keen explorer you can take part in the free guided tours conducted by the friendly staff of the Table Mountain Aerial Cableway.
You can also grab a bite to eat at the Table Mountain Café, or do some work at the Wi-Fi Lounge. Finally, you can shop around for memorabilia at the Shop at the Top.
